The Death Penalty is right

I do believe that the death penalty is a proper form of punishment for cold hearted killers. When a murderer kills innocent people with no remorse, I believe that they do not deserve to live. They should be shown how it feels to have your life taken by another person and it is out of their control. Killing others is bad but when someone murders someone, as well as rapes, tortures, or kidnaps them before they do it, it is not only bad, it is also evil. These sorts of people do not deserve to live. They didn't give their victims a chance to live so why should society want to give them a chance at life? i truly believe in the saying an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth.

First Amendment

I do believe that former president carter has a point to what he's saying. For someone to just blatently have an outburst like "You lie!!!" in such a serious setting its not only because he didn't agree with his health plan...it's also because he has something against Obama personally and I believe its because he's black. And in the Kanye West situation I do believe he was indeed wrong even though in this country there is the freedom of speech. This is to a certain extent. It was his opinion that Beyonce had a better video than Taylor Swift, but for him to come interrupt her happy moment for him to tell all of America his opinion was not right. It embarrassed her and when his freedom of speech affects other people, its not right. I do believe the media has a right to question his first amendment right because sure we have a freedom of speech but its always a time a place, and a manner to display a freedom of speech. I do believe most of the media story is one sided, most stories take up for taylor swift, however, there are some who try to defend Kanye West by saying he was intoxicated at the moment and that he really isnt in his right mind ever since his mother died. However, I do not believe there was any excuse for his actions

Obama's Speech

On Tuesday, September 9, President Barak Obama gave a speeh to students all across America. In this speech, his goal was basically trying to get students motivated and pumped up about school. He was trying to convince students to stay in school, study hard, concentrate on homework etc. His point of view was that education was the key to success not the false hopes of becoming rappers, actors, and things of that nature. I do think his goal was reached in a way because, his tone in the speech was so relaxed making it easy for students to relate which pumped them up even more about school. I personally do not think it was a montumental moment. This is because all my life I've heard the same cliche speech about how important education was and to stay in school. I don't think just because president Obama said it, it affected me more. I really didn't get much out of the speech simply because I've been hearing speeches similar in nature all my life from other people. His speech did not change my view on education because all of the things he said about education, I was already aware of.

Is the Constitution really useful?

I believe that the Constitution is as useful as people make it seem. Most of the things written in the constitution are still in affect today. Things such as freedom of speech, religion, the right to bear arms, press, petitioning, all these things are still applied in today's society. Most people take advantage of these things everyday and never stop to think that all these things they do everyday applies to the constitution that was written way back when. So yes, I do believe the constitution is a relevant as people make it out to be.
